How do you remain so happy and positive all the time? I feel like I have a negative mindset and am sad all the time.
Noo don’t be sad. Honestly it’s pretty hard to explain. But I can try to. I really think everything bad is a part of life so I’m ok with it because instead of lamenting or mourning the bad things I think of it as part of my life instead of an obstacle thrown into it. Everything bad is there to make the good things feel that much better. You have to have bad things happen. And we’re all fortunate enough that they’re just little things (comparatively). We all have our lives and our health and that’s really more than we can ask for. When you consider how little other people have in other parts of the world, and even in America, you realize how blessed you are and become more thankful that your struggles are what they are. Thinking that some kids are out there without clean water makes me so sad and angry. Really I’m thankful for everything, and sometimes almost feel like I deserve to suffer through some things because I’m blessed with a roof over my head, and water to drink. This got really long and there’s so much to explain and it’s hard to put into words, but I hope this was adequate!
“Don’t plant your bad days. They grow into weeks. The weeks grow into months. Before you know it, you got yourself a bad year. Take it from me - choke those little bad days. Choke ‘em down to nothing.”—Tom Waits (via perfect)
“Does he treat you with respect at all times? That’s the first question. The second question is, if he is the exact same person twenty years from now that he is today, would you still want to marry him? And finally, does he inspire to be a better person? You find someone you can answer yes to all three, then you’ve found a good man.”—Colleen Hoover (via pureblyss)
